Vigilemus

The quickest way to reach us is from inside the app.

  1. Open Vigilemus and go to Settings (the gear, top right).
  2. Tap Send feedback.
  3. Your mail app opens with the address already filled in — write what you found and send.

Every message is read. If you are reporting an error in a text, telling us the day, the hour or the prayer, and roughly where on the screen it appeared is usually enough for us to find it.

Common questions

Do I need a connection to pray?

No. Every text and every recording is inside the app; nothing is fetched while you pray. The app makes no network requests of its own at all — see the privacy page.

Is there an account to make?

No, and there never will be. Nothing about you is collected or stored anywhere but on your own device.

I think a reading or a date is wrong.

Please tell us. The calendar follows whichever Missal you have chosen in Settings — the Roman Missal of 1962 or the modern one — and either one's feasts, transfers and seasons are intricate. A second pair of eyes is genuinely valuable. Send the date you were looking at, which Missal you are following, and what you expected to see.

Where do the texts come from?

Scripture is the Douay-Rheims (Challoner revision); the commentary is the Catena Aurea in Newman's translation; the Office is the Little Office of the Blessed Virgin Mary; the prayers and novenas come from pre-1929 Catholic prayer manuals. Each screen cites its own source, and the citation links to where the text was taken from.

The narration stopped, or a prayer sounds wrong.

Tell us which hour or prayer it was. The recordings are shipped with the app, so this is something we can reproduce and fix rather than a problem on your end.

How do I turn off reminders?

Settings has a switch for novena reminders and one for holy days of obligation, and you can set the hour they arrive. Reminders are scheduled on your device.
